Netherlands the favorite to win of animal psychics
Bangkok News.Net Saturday 10th July, 2010
Germany’s supposedly psychic octopus, Paul, has picked Spain to be the winners of the World Cup in South Africa on June 11th when they confront the Netherlands.
The octopus, which is British-born and kept in an aquarium in Germany, has two flag-adorned boxes lowered into its tank before a match, each with a morsel of food inside. He then climbs into the box containing the flag of the country he thinks will win.
His record thus far has been perfect; in all of the games played by Germany so far in the football World Cup the eight-legged creature successfully predicted the outcome.
His correct predictions were so eerie they took on a special significance in Germany, with national news channels suspending normal programming to broadcast Paul’s selections.
Paul has become one of the odd stars of the World Cup, he has also become controversial.
Following his correct prediction that Germany would lose their match against Spain, thereby allowing Spain to advance to the finals and, according to Paul, win again, he has now become the target of disgruntled German fans who want to see him dead for treason.
PETA has now weighed in, calling for Paul to be released for his own safety and comfort.
Spain is significantly under-supported by animal World Cup predictions though. A parakeet called Mani in Singapore has been touted by a fortune teller as possessing the same powers as Paul. The bird flips over the card of the team it thinks will win (the flag is drawn on the top of the card). Mani chose the Netherlands.
An ape in Estonia was given two bags, one painted with the Spanish flag and another with that of the Netherlands and he instantly ate from the latter, while a wild hog at the same zoo chose the Netherlands after 15 minutes deliberation.
On Sunday football fans from Spain and the Netherlands, will face victory or crushing defeat, while ‘psychic’ animals and their predications will become one of the amusing sideshows of the event. Email this story to a friend

Ok
First for all we know they could be putting different food in each box or you could come up with many other ways to make the animals do what you want them to do. Think about it, we train dogs, pigs etc.
