Myanmar pardons 7 foreign prisoners on Armed Forces Day

YANGON, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's State Administration Council pardoned seven foreign prisoners on the country's 80th anniversary of Armed Forces Day on Thursday.

According to the council's order, the pardoned prisoners included four Thai nationals from Kawthoung prison and three Philippine nationals from Hpa-an prison.

The prisoners were pardoned in consideration of friendly relations among the countries and on humanitarian grounds, the council said.

The prisoners were pardoned and expelled under the condition that they will serve the remainder of their reduced sentences if they commit crimes again, it added.
