Thailand to implement shorter petrol station operating hours after Songkran

BANGKOK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Petrol stations might be ordered to close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. after the Songkran festival, as part of the new fuel-saving measures, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Tuesday.

The restriction on petrol station operating hours is expected to be implemented from April 20 onwards, and will not affect travelers during the Songkran festival, which is from April 13 to 15.

The prime minister said the government would try all possible means to save energy during the ongoing Middle East conflict.
